The New Year is approaching as fast just as I am writing this and I don’t know about you, but every year I always have the same list of resolutions that most likely: AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN!
So this year, I have promised myself that I am NOT going to make any resolutions…to lose weight, learn another language, take a trip, save money, not to gossip so much (yea right!). Instead, I am making a simple resolution that I am going to ENJOY the New Year. I am going to just have fun at the New Year’s party I’ve been invited to: I’ll wear my high heeled shoes (from Goler of course), wear a pretty dress, and enjoy myself without worrying about those resolutions!
So that’s easier said than done right?
Yes, I’ve been thinking a lot about why at New Year’s we make all of these determinations to be different, act different, eat different, look different… Maybe it’s because we’ve come from a month of holidays. While the holidays are supposed to be a fun time to share and be with our family, unfortunately so much stress comes with them—Buying gifts, gift wrapping (btw, we can take this off your plate with our complimentary gift wrapping at our store!), having dinner with relatives that we have not seen for years, spouses that are disagreeing about the kids, and, well, you get the picture! So maybe after this we get to New Years and realize that we need changes. We need a fresh start. A new approach. Some sort of a redemption from the holidays and our behavior during the holidays??
Now that I think about it, let’s do this: Let’s make our “resolution” NOW, before the New Years. Can we apply them during the remainder of the holidays?
I will try…that way I can just have FUN at the New Year’s party ;)
I wish all of you Happy Holidays and I hope to see you at the store soon!
